Chennai International Airport is an international airport that serves the city of Chennai and is the fifth busiest airport in India. The airport’s IATA code is MAA, and it dates back to Madras, which was Chennai's former name. The airport is 15 kms from downtown Chennai. The airport spans over an area of 1,301 acres.

Chennai airport location is in Tirusulam and its first airport service started in 1915. In the year 2024 to 2025, the airport handled over 0.37 million tonnes of cargo and 22 million passengers. Chennai Airport consists of these terminals, namely the Kamaraj Domestic Terminal and Anna International Terminal.

Airports Authority of India (AAI) manages the Chennai Airport. The Ministry of Home Affairs will take care of immigration services. TANGEDC gives power supply through an 11,000 kV sub station.
